Welcome to Cokesbury's 2007 VBS, Word Up! Speaking and Living for Jesus. This all new five-session resource is a program in which people of every culture can explore the rich oral history of African American faith inspired by traditions from James Weldon Johnson's God's Trombones to today's poetry and rap. In Word Up!, children, teens and adults will experience:

Session 1: God Created Me!  
       Creation  Genesis 1:26-31
Session 2: God Promises Me!         
        God Makes a Rainbow Promise Genesis 9:8-17
Session 3: God Leads Me! 
         Remembering the Exodus Story Psalm 106:4-12
Session 4: Jesus Invites Me!    
        Jesus Invites Sheep into the Flock  Matthew 25:31-40
Session 5: Jesus Loves Me!
        Jesus Tells the Story of the Lost Son  Luke 15:11-24

In each session, participants will
:
Hear and speak Bible truths that form living faith
Experience God’s creative work through media, music, poetry, drama, and art
Speak affirmations that connect God’s love with every day life

All ages connect with Cokesbury's new music, poetry and rap.  From Christian hip hop artist Ricky B., musician and writer Olusola, and poet Catisha, this year's music is the best ever.  And it is easier than ever to learn with the new instructional DVD.
